Confused Media

Another example of why Civics courses should be reintroduced in public schools.

The confused kids at Fort Wayne's NBC (aka WPTA 21.2) are not quite clear how things work.

Lawmakers make the laws, law enforcement enforces the laws.

This poorly-written headline gives the impression that members of the Indiana legislature have arrest powers and the ability and authority to "crackdown" on confused store operators.

Another problem with the headline. It says "lawmakers are cracking down"... However, the body of the story begins with the words "Indiana lawmakers are looking to toughen the penalties".
The headline says they are, the copy of the story says they are considering it. Uh, which is it?

The Maven would offer that the thought of members of the Indiana legislature with firearms and arrest powers would give many of us a reason for concern. A few should not even be allowed to drive.
