We can always "count on" our friends at WANE TV to bring us the latest news.....even if it's a month or two old. In the news biz, we call that stale.
Tonight's big story:
An important story? Yes. A timely story? Not so much.
While the anchor team breathlessly told us about the skyrocketing cost of this life-saving device, other media had the story last week.
Another had it six weeks ago:
I guess better late than never, or maybe they were wanting to slap exclusive on, as they knew no one else would be covering the story on the same day.

ReplyDeleteSometimes, I do get that feeling of DEJA VU when watching the news.
NOW, I know why.
Good call.
Stay safe out there.
Are you stupid...? This story is about local people affected by the price increase... it's not breaking that the price JUST went up. Read the context, try and absorb what you're reading and watching.
ReplyDeleteIt's a stale story. 21Alive did the story the same day that NBC carried it last week. And in true local TV style, they localized it with FW residents showing shock and concern. 15 clearly missed the story and is playing catch-up.
DeleteAnd in today's breaking story, WANE learned at 10:02 AM McDonalds was taking the fitness bands out of Happy Meals. Which was announced sometime last week, as I recall. I wasn't expecting it until at least Thursday...
