What say it the matter, you ask? 

First off, the Sagamore of the Wabash award is not something that someone competes for. That is, the person who receives this prestigious and coveted award is not a "winner", they are are "recipient". There was not 50 yard dash, there was no arm wrestling competition, not even a bikini runway line up. They earned the honor thought their actions and hard work, usually over many years. 
It's an honor bestowed by the Governor of the state. There is a vetting process, but no wagering is allowed. 





Secondly, there's a glaring typo in the paragraph mentioning Gloria Perez. 

While the Perez error can not be pinned on being an out-of-stater, it can be attributed to the fact that the suits that run WOWO really don't care seem to exercise any control over what comes out on the web or over the air. The fact that their newsroom is referred to as "Romper Room" by others in the media and people like the Maven who enjoy picking nits seems to not worry anyone.
