Local TV Lowers The Bar

While the kids in the WOWO news room are the undisputed champions when it comes to demolishing the standards of spelling, grammar and syntax, the local TV news rooms have little to be proud of.

WPTA aka 21Alive offers up a good story about IPFW's new police chief. Except the story, published on August 6, states that the new chief begins her duties on JUNE 1, 2014. Clerical error, I'm sure.

Then, the writer of this WANE TV story seems to have some issues with spelling. The Maven is certain that the writer meant SCENT, instead of SENT. Or one would think that was the case.

The Maven rates these as a double face palm......
